You only need a small space to make a big difference! Preorder your copy of How to Grow Food here: https://geni.us/HowToGrowFood
How much food can you really grow in just 1m² (10ft²)?
In this video I break down exactly how I average 100+ portions of vegetables per square metre, using real harvest data from my garden. Whether you grow in a small space, balcony, raised bed or allotment, this approach will help you get far more food from the space you already have.
Most gardeners think they need more land to be more self-sufficient. But the truth is simple: if you understand portion-based planning, succession planting, and a few key high-yield crops, you can produce a surprising amount of food in even the smallest garden.
This is the same method Sam Cooper and I break down in our new book How To Grow Food, a practical, no-nonsense crop-by-crop guide to growing, cooking and preserving your harvests.

“Think in portions not in plants” I love that!

🐝🌻🐝 Thanks for the video 🐝🌻🐝
I keeping saying to people that you really don't need a big garden to grow food. I love the idea of thinking in portions. I've been doing this for years without even thinking about it.
I love this concept and I'm still going to overshoot my tomatoes by 12 kilos.
I cant find it on Amazon via the link…
Great video as always! Ending cracked me up!
You are such a wally! 😄 That's a good tip to concentrate on the food you will actually eat – I'll be growing more turnips and green beans next year and shan't bother with lima beans again. The fordhook chard is fantastic, unfortunately it seems to give me a histamine reaction, so I'll be experimenting wth bok choi and chinese cabbage I reckon. Thanks!
Looking forward to reading your new book! I read your Self-sufficiency Garden book, and it was really valuable. The charts about how to use each vegetable were one of the most useful things I've ever seen published in a gardening book!
I love watching your videos even though I live in a very different environment, more tropical, hot and humid most of the year, because of ideas.
That is absolutely amazing! My garden style was revolutionized by your videos and techniques, and this really backs up what you've already said many times before! I love it and appreciate your efforts in showing everyone how easy it is to produce a good bit of food 💕🥰
Hi please what is different about this book and the self sufficient garden? Thank you
Thank you, Huw! This year has been more difficult than most years, with drought especially. I usually know how many tomato plants I need, but the tomatoes did not seem to want to turn red as usual. The same with some of the other vegetables that did not make it :/
I have such sludges that I stopped growing altogether. I cannot have ducks and go to work. Still, a pity.
Congrats on the book, Sounds like a good one – hope you can ship to Europe in a near future ☺️
Very timely. As grocery prices rise, I am sure that more people will look to gardening to suuplement their income and why not? Probably a lot more nutritious than what one can find in the store, and there are other benefits as well. Good luck on your book sales.
I've loved your past books and I'm sure I'll end up buying this one too, even though I haven't been up to gardening in a long time. It's inevitable that I'll get back to it. Even when I'm not gardening myself, I enjoy your videos.
5:06 this is part of my issue, not being able to use the space for as much as possible. I’m not great with timings of things. Which is ok if you have people that say well today is good to sow seeds but not if it’s to plant plants that are 10+ days old as then I’m a min of 10days behind where I should be, does that make sense?
Hoping to follow more grow alongside this year for my season, so hopefully I will get better results
I always thought once the Avengers finish Thanos, they will ot have much to except devote time for their hobbies. Thor here, for instance, has taken to farming
9:26 😂😂😂
Just preordered. I definitely need some help using my space more efficiently, this is a great concept. Good luck with the book
Oo those new potatoes looked amazing, mine didn't produce much this year
Love it ❤
