First, I'm not sure this is in the correct subreddit, so apologies if it's wrong.

My thanksgiving cactus broke off at the soil line this morning. 😫 It had 15 buds on it and I'm so sad cause it was finally looking so good.
I took it off where I marked with the red line and popped it back in the soil.
Will it reroot from that point or do I need to make multiple smaller clippings from it?
Thank you for your help.

I am no expert, but I would probably remove the blooms to conserve nutrients and water while waiting for roots and perhaps move that red line cut up a little higher to create 3 cuttings instead of 1.

It will root just fine but it will most likely drop the flower buds, they do that at the slightest stress, and this is a lot of stress
