I just got this goldenrod plant in a 6โ pot – wondering if now (mid-November) is too late to plant it in the ground? Should I move it to a larger container and wait until spring? I live in Central North Texas zone 8b. Love goldenrod and want it to survive ๐ thank you!

Go for it. I’d water it once a week for the first month. I plant any time the ground isn’t frozen.
Plant it!! Iโm in Michigan and Iโm still planting things. As long as the ground is not frozen and you can dig into it. I love to shop the after Halloween clearance sales, last year everything I planted in snowy November survived.
Itโs rhizomatous, so it should be fine. Just keep it insulated from the cold with leaf mulch.
if you have plants ready and the ground is ready, it’s fine to plant. remember to water well to get it established.
it’s unnecessarily large imo– better off planting more, smaller plants, but you’ll get lots of seedlings
curious what kind it is– there are lots of goldenrods
Yes plant! Insulate with leaves/mulch. Go on some nature walks see if you can find some seeds too to scatter
now is the time
Yes, put it in the ground.
As long as the ground isn’t frozen you can plant! I’d argue fall is one of the best time for planting natives so they have the winter dormancy to work on root development and you could have a larger plant in the spring. Just give it some water here and there if you don’t get any rain
