Since yesterday post sparked up curiosity about blue orchids, here are some of the few that have some naturally blue flowers, with no dye whatsoever.
1.Vanda coerulea
2.Thelymitra crinita
3.Cleisocentron gokusingii
4.Phalaenopsis Wedding Promenade (Bluegene GMO)
5.Aganisia cyanea (Very light blue in some flowers, but mainly violet)
Do you know any other orchids to add to this list?
Do some of you own some of this plants?

3 out of 5 of those are more purple than blue to my eyes but I know they’re considered blue blooms. True blue seems to be a very rare thing in the orchid world tbh…I wonder why that is. Maybe it’s a colour than most pollinators can’t see/aren’t attracted to, or something like that 🤷♀️

Zigonisia cynosure “blue bird”
There are a couple of blue Dendrobiums from New Guninea, like leucocyanum, parvulum, and some newly described/discovered species.
Number 3 (cleso… something) is the only true blue of these. The others lean purple to me.
I’m in love with every single one. Heavenly 💙
Number 3 which looks looks like it has pearls for centers takes my breath away !
My Aganisia cyanea is in bud right now, first time blooming, can hardly wait to see it!!
