This is my first time trying this method and I now know I needed a bigger net pot. The tomato is just super top heavy and I suppose my hole was cut just too big. The string is not affecting this at all, just the weight of the tomato. Somehow I must secure this tomato

Some rocks or 2 bricks on either side of the blue lid.

Make a wrap around tomato cage from concrete reinforcement wire.

Another option is 3 small screws with fender washers screwed into the bucket lid around the net pot, so the washers hold the pot down.

If the screw tears out of the plastic, you can upgrade to a nut and bolt.

Personally, I would stop relying on the base to keep it stable and support the plant fully from above. When I cut the stalk of my polytunnel tomatoes, they just swing because the entire weight is held up by the supporting ties/string/wire.
