Jade Repair help needed! There was an accident. Gravity is to blame. Did I chop it correctly? Any advice for best outcome? The pot had drainage, the plant got plenty of bright and direct light and was watered every 2 weeks. Potting soil was mixed with perlite and coco coir. Send help.

Your plant looks healthy so I guess keep doing what you were. Do you really need that many leaf propagations? 😄 One day, when you’re watering your 43 jade plants and feel overwhelmed, you think “How did I end up in here”.

Lookin healthy! This has happened to my jades before too; heavy ceramic or terracotta pot for you 😛

Those “leaves” and “stems” can get put onto the dirt, and they’ll propagate 🙂 No real need to ‘chop & prop’ a succulent/cactus, unless some of the branches broke off all ugly? I usually just snap em off & toss them into the yard to grow new babies.. You can use a small plate/dish/drip tray with some soil to make a small nursery, or just put them back into the pot alongside mama.

Last lil bit is – let the freshly sliced ends ‘callous’ or ‘scab’ over. They’re a plants open wounds, and just like us they need time to develop an infection resistant ‘scab’. Make sure you never put freshly cut succulent into soil or water, like you wouldn’t rub mud into a papercut xx
