Yes I know it was a mistake after browsing through this subreddit hahah. How bad did I get ripped off though? $140 for both. Maple and juniper. Do they look viable and healthy? They are in kokedamas…
I purchased some from BonsaiBoy.
Great reviews and largest bonsai nursery in the Us.
You can also get a juniper like that for 30$
Juniper should also go outside or it’s gonna look like the other one.

Ope. That’s a lesson learned right there.

Fwiw, the maple is probably fine, it is fall after all. You should definitely figure out what the root situation is though, gently. Not sure what I’m looking at, looks like one of those little fake moss pots they throw orchids in

You probably paid more than double what you should have.
Now it’s up to you to make them worth that much!

Maple needs to go in a big pot to grow out. Juniper looks a little better. Both need to go outside now or they’ll die

140? join your local bonsai club, mine has $25/year dues and i get prebonsai shoved at me for free seemingly every other month. also you’re gonna need to get them out of those ridiculous kokedama at your earliest opportunity (this coming spring if you are northern hemisphere, right now if southern)

You got ripped off big time, sorry. There is virtually no development on either one, and you shouldn’t have been charged more than $30, in my opinion.

I have a feeling I know where you got these.
Not trying to beat a dead horse but I wouldn’t even qualify these as pre-bonsai let a lone pregrown bonsai, lesson learned! Don’t beat yourself up, and least you get the joy of watching them develop.

I hate people selling cuttings from random trees/plants as “bonsais”, what’s worse is that they make tons of money and usually have high seller ratings
