With ‘Maybe Not Tonight’, Lime Garden have shared their first new material since their acclaimed 2024 debut album, ‘One More Thing’.

Lime Garden have today released their new single, ‘Maybe Not Tonight’, a track that – in harking back to their familiar witty lyricism and infectious instrumentation – polishes their trademark charm. ‘Maybe Not Tonight’ is an unapologetic ode to hedonistic desires, the urge to go out and be careless (and probably destructive) completely on your own terms.

With nearly all of the lines in the verses beginning with “I want”, the track indulges in recklessness in a way that makes Lime Garden describe it as, “the soundtrack to a woman on the edge of making all the wrong choices, it feels like getting punched in the face with the morning after a night out.” ‘Maybe Not Tonight’ is unruly, gritty, and still manages to express the more complicated side of being a “woman on the edge”. Amongst playful desires of dancing and kissing strangers lies the consideration of the fears that hold a person back from releasing their inhibitions. Whether it be body insecurity or comparison with those around you, ‘Maybe Not Tonight’ really pins down the toxic relationship between wanting to let go and instinctively holding back, and how those two voices can feed into each other.

‘Maybe Not Tonight’ is as honest and relatable as Lime Garden have ever been, and packed in alongside the unabashed candidness are relentless club-ready synths and a piercing guitar riff that takes their dance-infused indie-pop one step further. Somewhere in the midst of the regrettable choices, electro-clash hooks, and the prangs of anxiety, Lime Garden have managed to condense the entirety of a chaotic night out into just under three minutes.
