A man was airlifted to the hospital after he was wounded in a shooting in a Miami Gardens neighborhood on Tuesday, officials said.

The shooting happened around 1:30 p.m. in the area of Northwest 24th Court and Northwest 167th Street.

Miami Gardens Police said officers responded to a shooting in the area and found the man with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said crews responded to the area and found the patient, who was airlifted to a local hospital as a trauma alert.

That man’s identity and exact condition weren’t available. It’s unknown what led to the incident.

Police said witnesses saw multiple subjects fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

Resident Inez Harris’ Ring camera captured the chaos unfolding outside her door as the victim and his brother showed up asking for help.

“Help! Please! Can you call the police? I’m shot!” he said in the video.

“They were beating on my door real hard and I didn’t know what was going on,” Harris said. “I mean, they fell down in front of my door and still banging and beating and I said ‘my goodness.'”

The injured brother could be seen with a red shirt pressed up against his chest.

“His brother gave him his shirt to hold right there so he wouldn’t bleed so much,” Harris said.

Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed a large police presence in the neighborhood.

No other details were immediately available. The shooting remains under investigation.
