Wanted to post an update on my little sentimental patch of moss I've been mothering.
Seems to be doing great! I never did get another shipment of springtails, but the few I added at the start plus a few more that grew in the original container have been doing their job and seem to be thriving!
Also, as a total newbie, I didn't know springtail adult stage was more of a beetle – I thought they stayed in little white critter form forever. 🙃 So when I was inspecting the container today and saw a bunch of their little spotted butts running around I initially panicked and thought I had a mite problem… until I did a little internet investigating and learned better.
I'm so grateful for Reddit communities and everything I was able to learn to start this tiny terrarium and give my own heart some TLC.
