Purchased in ~2021 with ~5 growing tips. I think in cultivation it tends to produce more heads due to an excess of nutrients. It also self-shadows, especially around the edges, resulting in etiolation as the heads compete for light. I think I would need intense sun from all sides at all times to keep it compact and globose. It’s been in this pot for at least 3 years, and at the current growing rate, I hope it completely fills up the pot by 2027.
I got like a dozen flower buds around July which died in a heat wave 🥲 but maybe that allowed the rest of the plant to grow faster. Hopefully I get buds again next year!

Que curiosa!! Linda demais 🤩
Freaking gorgeous! That baby deserves a really amazing bonsai-style pot with legs to show off her star power. 🤩
That’s a treasure
Hi..what is the medium it’s planted in? Is that all rocks or are the rocks a topper? How deep is that pot?
Sorry if those answers are obvious, I’m not very knowledgeable regarding cacti (yet!)
Beautiful! I love the rauschii cultivars, they have such beautiful colors.

Here is what a grafted cutting (~4 months old) looks like.
