Gardaí in County Galway are investigating a number of recent criminal damage incidents and burglaries during which gardening tools, a van, documents and a laptop were stolen.

Burglaries

A burglary occurred at a premises Shanaglish in Gort between Friday October 24 and Tuesday November 4.

During the course of this burglary a quantity of gardening equipment was stolen. This included a Stihl strimmer, a Hyundai strimmer, two Tenaka strimmers and a Honda lawnmower.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident, may have been offered these items for sale or with any other information to contact Gort Garda station 091-636400 or the Garda confidential line on 1800-666-111.

While in Kilcolgan, a burglary took place at a house in Muggaunagh, Ballinasdreen, between 11pm on Wednesday November 5 and 6.30am on Thursday November 6. During the course of this burglary a 171-TS-2169 grey Subaru GT series van was stolen.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who mays have noticed any persons or vehicle acting suspicious in the area, may have observed this vehicle on the roads or knows the current whereabouts of this vehicle to contact Garda Stephen Joyce at Gort Garda station on 091-636400 or the Garda confidential line on 1800-666-111.

Separately, on Sunday November 9 at approximately 3am an apartment in Caiseal Eala in Spanish Parade, Galway city, was broken into. During the course of this break-in a bag containing various personal documents and a silver Lenovo laptop were taken.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have been offered this laptop for sale to contact with any other information to contact Garda Gerry Carroll at Galway Garda Station on 091-538000 or the Garda confidential line on 1800-666-11.

Incidents of criminal damage

On Thursday November 6 at approximately 2.20am a 181D grey Dacia Duster was damaged while parked up in Rian Lucra in Ballybane.

A number of windows were smashed in the vehicle during this incident. Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.

Separately in Galway city, on Friday November 7, a 191G white ford fiesta was damaged while parked at St James GAA club in Mervue between approximately 8pm and 11.30pm.

The rear window of the vehicle was damaged during this incident. Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.
