Hi I'm trying to build my first terrarium/mossarium, I will be using build attached in the video, the pump and fogger will be run on timers for occasional use. Will the wooden platforms be too humid/wet for spagnum moss? I'll landscape them with dragon stone fixed with aquarium silicon sealant. Are there any easy to look after moss that would suit such a wet humod environment?

  1. Christmas moss, java moss and spiky moss are easy to care for and (from my experience) easiest to be found at aquarium stores.

I would use aquatic mosses for sure! There’s also riccia fluitans which is an aquatic liverwort but looks very mossy. Most terrestrial moss will not tolerate that much humidity and wetness. I’m sure there are some that would work but I am unaware of which species. Terrestrial mosses need good air circulation and many temperate moss actually need some dry periods. If you use an aquatic moss and trim it frequently, it will eventually grow more compact like a terrestrial moss
