Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires has added a hydroponic garden to the terrace of the recently restored La Mansión Álzaga Unzué.
This initiative is part of the hotel’s comprehensive sustainability program, recognized with the “Hoteles Más Verdes” Gold certification — the highest distinction granted to properties committed to responsible environmental management.
The hydroponic garden, installed on the terrace of one of Buenos Aires’ most iconic mansions, will supply the hotel’s restaurants — Elena, Nuestro Secreto, and Pony Line Bar — and its events area with fresh, natural, and sustainably grown produce.

“Each product was chosen according to the needs of our kitchens and bars. We use every ingredient from the garden, and we have a rainwater collection system that allows us to reuse nutrients and optimize consumption,” explains Juan Gaffuri, Executive Chef at Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires.
Among the cultivated species are carrots, beets, Swiss chard, purple lettuce, kale, arugula, mint, parsley, oregano, rosemary, basil, cilantro, and chives — all specially selected by the hotel’s chefs and bartenders for use in seasonal dishes, cocktails, and other preparations.
