*BROKEN* LION SHARD METHOD! FARM TONS OF SHARDS & ITEMS FAST! | Grow A Garden
Yo, what is up guys? Welcome to the Grow a Garden video. Today we’re going over everything added in the new Mega Safari update, how to effectively farm all three mechanics in this update, as well as I spent the last day going super in-depth into Joe, analyzing every aspect of the NPC to not only find out the exact formula for getting points on pets, but also determine exactly what rarity at what age you need to hatch to give yourself a chance at the Lion Shard, exactly what egg you should be hatching based on the rarity distribution, and a ton more useful info. So, we’re going to be going over a lot in this video. As always, my videos are bookmarked. Feel free to skip around if you really want to. With that being said, if you enjoy the video, find it useful, just want to stay updated on all the best leaks, tips, tricks, methods for grow garden, don’t forget to hit that subscribe button. That being said, sit back, relax, and let’s get straight into the video. All right, so on Saturday, we got the brand new mega harvest update. And in this update, we got quite a bit of stuff. But obviously, if you’ve been playing it, the reception has not been amazing. Definitely worse than last week, but still a pretty decent update in my opinion, especially once you flesh out exactly how to farm it for what you want. Now, the first big thing they added in this update is what you see going on right now, which is the mega harvest. This happens once every hour for about 10 minutes. And during this, you get two times the points when submitting to Joyce. And obviously, during this time, Safari Joe also shows up. But, as you probably already know, Joe also does sell these new pet shards, which are really, really cool. There’s basically one for every Safari pet that was added. And the best part about these shards is that each one provides not only the ability of the pet that it’s replicating, but also a slight passive boost. Obviously, the worst one being the ox pecker, which gives the oxecker ability, but also a small passive boost. And the best one being the lion, which is pretty hard to get, as you can see here, a 0.5% or a 1% chance. But it gives you the lion ability, which is actually pretty broken, especially for lions or for peacocks, and provides a big passive boost. So, I’m pretty sure these definitely could be one of the best pet shards in the game, specifically for cool down pets, which are already the best pets in the game. So, these shards are definitely going to be something you want to go after, which is why I’ll go over the best method to do so. But, they also added in a ton more milestones for a bunch of different rewards, including the new lion pet and all those other pets to be unlocked inside of the Safari shop. And honestly, I really doubt we’ll be making these milestones. So, they’ll probably do the same thing that they did last week and probably tomorrow, lower the amount of points required for these milestones because there’s no way we’re reaching 300 billion. But, they did also go ahead and buff the rewards inside the individual rewards, which was really needed. So, it’s much easier to get Safari eggs as well as lollipops and even the paradise egg. So, even submitting points to Joyce, especially with the new safari category, is pretty good for rewards as well. That being said, obviously there are a few smaller changes, like you can now get more pet slots inside the garden ascension shop. Please, Jendelle, just add a ton more slots for free. It really should not be that hard. But let’s talk about this event and really how you should be farming it to get rewards because I know it can be pretty confusing, especially with the way a ton of these mechanics work. Now, the easiest part of this event to farm by far is going to be the Safari Shop. The Safari shop restocks every 15 minutes currently. And around like one every two or three restocks, you will find at least one or two Safari eggs in there. And then even things like the jumbo pet shard chance was significantly buffed. So getting the jumbo pet shard is not too hard either. And you’ll definitely want to stack up on quite a few of those if you can just because they do provide quite a big XP boost. And when it comes to farming the shop, it’s incredibly simple. Use one account. sit here with an auto clicker on whatever items you want to buy. Or better yet, use a macro like Tiny Task to record yourself and play back buying every single item in the shop. Or you can also alt abuse the shop whenever something that you want a ton of comes in stock, like Safari eggs or even the pet shark jumbos. Obviously, buy it on your main account and then go on as many alt accounts as you possibly can and buy them on those accounts as well. The safari shop is probably the most simplest part of this event to farm, which is why it’s pretty underrewarding. But really, what we’re all waiting for is the lion to come in stock, which you need 290 billion points, which I don’t even think we’ll be able to reach. So, I’m hoping they do nerf that value. And if it does come in stock, obviously alt abuse it to get as many lions as you possibly can because that cool down ability is really, really nice. Now, besides the shop, you can also farm this event by submitting plants to Joyce just like you did last week, but things have changed a little bit. First off, there is a pretty big buff to the individual rewards, making it a lot more rewarding to farm. Specifically, you can now get a pretty good amount of level up lollipops. A pretty good amount of paradise eggs. It’s a 1% chance, but considering for full backpacks of certain plants, you can get two to four different attempts at it. That only takes like 20 backpacks full, which really is not that crazy. And then obviously for safari eggs, there’s a 7% chance you get at least one and sometimes three. And you can get yourself the new Safari seed pack as well, which is semidecent. Honestly, I wish seed packs were a little bit better, but you really have two options when it comes to farming joist. First off, you can do what I did last week, which I don’t think is nearly as effective, but obviously is going to be the most accessible method for most people, which would be to set up a multih harvest garden like I have here that covers every single plant type that Joyce can ask for. Wow, this is lagging my screen a lot. But Joyce can basically ask for the current plant types that you see on screen, as well as the new safari plant type. If you’re not sure what plants cover each of the different traits, go to your gardening guide, go to the plants, go to filter, and scroll down to the traits. And then you can uncheck every single box. And for example, we’ll click safari, and you’ll see every single plant that is covered under the safari type. Now, you want to find multih harvest and fast growing crops. So, for example, I have blue raspberries, spearrass, melons, glow thorns, candy, cauliflower, tomatoes, crown of thorns, and roses. Now, if you have any of those, I would highly recommend you use them, but it’s really up to you. Just make sure it’s a high rarity, fast growing, and multi-h harvest crop, and you’ll get a ton of points. Then, obviously, get yourself a full team of giant ants, stegosauruses, whatever kind of duplication pet you have, and make sure you’re using those as you’re collecting. Now, the other method, in my opinion, which is definitely the best for your time, is going to be using coconuts and mangoes. These are by far the best plants to use for this harvest. They both cover about half of the categories that could possibly show up, including the new safari category. Each coconut grows around 20 fruits. Each mango grows quite a bit of fruits as well, and they both regrow their fruits quite fast, as well as they are both mythical rarity, which also affects the amount of points you’re getting. So, all in all, coconuts and mangoes are by far the best plants, which is why I would recommend if you can set up another garden with probably around 100 mango and coconut seeds, don’t overdo it. You will start lagging your game and it’ll be basically unplayable. And if you’re like me and you don’t have a ton of coconut seeds to start, start using a ton of snails, collecting coconuts, and you’ll build up coconut seeds pretty fast. I did this last week and that’s why I already have a ton of coconut seeds. And then obviously you can build a little platform around your coconut plants and your mango plants if you want just to make it easier to grab them. But from there, it’s pretty simple. Whenever Joyce is craving a safari woody or tropical type, which is pretty often, you just equip a ton of giant ants. And in fact, since coconuts and mangoes are both safari, once the cape buffalo is available, it’s going to be even more OP to duplicate mangoes and coconuts. So use those once that comes available. But you just go back and forth. fill up your inventory. And as you’re doing this, obviously you’ll be getting more coconut seeds, more mango seeds, so you’ll never really run out of coconuts or mangoes again. Once your backpack’s full, go to Joyce and just submit all. Now, obviously, take advantage of the mega harvest. For 10 minutes, it’s going to be two times points. So, using one backpack full, I normally get two rewards, but because it’s double points, I get four different rewards, 2,000 points. And that’s for every backpack full. So, every 30 seconds or so, I am going to be getting four different rewards during the mega harvest and two rewards when there is no mega harvest going on. But obviously, that adds up pretty fast. There we go. We already have another backpack full and we submitted there and we got a ton more rewards. And you just keep doing this over and over again because of the rarity of these plants, because of how fast they grow. This is just by far the best method in my opinion. It’s not worth using any other plants. And if it’s not asking for a trait that a coconut has, take a break. Don’t submit anything. But this is my favorite method and this is how I’ve been farming up so many paradise eggs, which is going to be pretty important for Joe, which I’ll talk about next. All right, it’s time to talk about Joe. I’ve spent more time than I probably should have analyzing this NPC and how it works and the best overall strategy to farm him for these lion shards because I want to get myself a ton of these lion shards. I think these are going to be incredibly valuable for any cooldown pet. The fact that it gives a big passive boost as well as a cooldown advancement ability. I think this might just be better than Nightmare for Peacock or pretty close. Now, this is going to require a little bit of work, but honestly, not as much as you’re probably expecting. And because of how rare these shards are, these are going to be pretty valuable. Pets with the lion mutation, especially if it’s as OP as I’m thinking, are going to be probably more expensive than nightmare pets, especially if you have this mutation on another lion or on a peacock. But obviously, I do have to do a little more testing to figure out exactly how good this shard is. But just from the looks of it, it does seem pretty good, especially with that big passive boost and the cool down ability. Anyways, once every hour for 10 minutes, Joe will spawn in. Now, you have the ability to submit a pet to Joe. And depending on the amount of points you have, you’ll be eligible for certain rewards, including those pet shards I already mentioned. Now, what’s confusing a lot of people is how points are exactly calculated. It took me a little bit and some testing with different pets, but I finally figured it out. Points are calculated partly based on rarity and partly based on age. So, there’s two different components. Here is the amount of points you get per rarity. It’s a little weird. The number is a little strange, but trust me, it works out. I’ve tested it out with pretty much every pet in my inventory. And then depending on the pet’s age, you use this formula to calculate the additional points it’ll get. So, it’s 1.5 points for every age past age 1, plus the amount of points that you get for the rarity. So, using these, I was then able to calculate the exact pet requirements for 120 points and 140 points. As you can see here on screen, you’ll need a legendary age 50, a mythical age 44, or a divine age 37 for 120 points, or you’ll need a legendary age 64, a mythical age 57, or a divine age 50 for 140 points. And on average, you’ll need 182 pets from the 120 point section to get one Lion Shard, or you’ll need 97 pets from the 140 points section to get one Lion Shard. Now, that is very discouraging, but keep in mind there are a ton of other useful shards as well that also all provide increasingly better passive boosts, and you’ll be getting a ton of those as you are trying to get those lion shards. Now, the weight of a pet does not count. It does not matter. The only two components that matter are the age and the rarity. It means when you’re hatching, don’t use brontosauruses. Use a full team of ostriches. Now, in this video, I’ll be using very low-level, very low KG ostriches, and you’ll see you’ll still easily to get yourself over age 50 and sometimes age 60 pets, which gives you a chance at that lion shard. But you can either trade for these or hatch them using the paradise egg, which once again, the chances were buffed. And if you use the second method for the safari harvest methods I went over, it only takes around 20 to 30 backpack fulls to get yourself one paradise egg. And using some decent kois as well as a full team of decent seals, you’ll give yourself up to a maximum of 114% chance to duplicate a paradise egg when you open them, which means on average you will actually be gaining paradise eggs. But that’s at the super extreme if all your koi are level 100, nightmare, etc. And then you also want to decide what egg you want to hatch. Do not use any limited or event eggs. On screen here are all of the best eggs with the best rarity distribution. Obviously, you can see here the mythic is by far the best though. So, if you farmed previous events, you’ll probably have a ton of mythical eggs like I do or a ton of legendary eggs. But, but just decide on what eggs would be best for you to open. If you are opening those rare eggs though, you do not have a chance at getting the lion shard because it’ll be basically impossible to get a high enough level to give yourself a decent chance at the lion shard. So, personally, I use the mythical egg, but you decide based on what you have. And for those interested, here is the full chart of the statistics for Joe. And then all you really do is place down the eggs on your garden and you wait for them to hatch. Now, you need to use hatching pets. At the very least, use some bald eagles and some rhinos. The combination of about four or five rhinos and four or five bald eagles is going to hatch all your eggs around every hour, maybe hour and a half, without using toys and without like insane mutations. So, obviously, if you level them up, get mutations and stuff, it’s going to be even faster. But what I would recommend to do is go ahead and get yourself some hydras. These are not incredibly hard to get from the past. Completing the past is not hard at all. The normal hydras are not very expensive to trade for either. So, get yourself some hydras if you can. Make them nightmare if you can. And you’ll be able to hatch an egg every 30 minutes or so per hydra. And if it’s a rainbow nightmare hydra, that’s every 18 minutes. I know this isn’t feasible for a lot of players, but even just a normal hydra non-mutated is going to be an egg every 40 minutes. with a full team of that, that’s eight eggs every 40 minutes, but for me, it’s about eight eggs every 20 to 25 minutes, which is obviously a lot faster than those other hatching pets. And at the very extreme, if you have some really good cool down pets, like some massive 15-second peacocks, you can use those with the first hatching pets I mentioned, like the bald eagle, the kiwi, and the rhino to hatch eggs extremely fast. But obviously, that’s not feasible for most players, and personally, I just prefer hydra. They are incredibly simple and very consistent. But it’s up to you. And then from there, it’s pretty simple. Wait for your eggs to be ready to hatch. Use some ostriches with some toys and maybe even a grandmaster sprinkler if you have. And you’ll start hatching some legendary or above pets with high enough ages to sacrifice to Joe for a chance at those lion shards. Now, any legendary that’s below age 50 or any mythical that’s below 44. I am going to be selling with my seals to get the egg back cuz I don’t want to waste all my 300 mythical eggs instantly. And because I’m only really looking for the lion shard and you can get all the other shards from those higher levels. But I would highly recommend you don’t submit the super low age ones and you sell them with seals to get your egg back so you can try again with the ostriches again. But from there, once Joe appears, pick and choose the pets you want to donate. So we’ll go ahead and do a brown mouse here. Hopefully you get lucky. Let’s go ahead and submit everything I want to submit. Four safari eggs. Okay, another four safari eggs. There we go. A pet shard giraffe already. A pet shard oxecker. And I’m going to be selling the other pets obviously to get the egg back. But this is actually my first time with a full team of ostriches getting highle pets and submitting to Joe. And I already managed to get myself a pet shroud giraffe and a pet shard oxecker and a ton of safari eggs. So now that the method is refined, now that I have all my pets ready and I have my eggs ready, I’m going to be farming this a ton. And if you can do it, I’d recommend you do the same as well. That is it. That is the best strategy to farm all three aspects of this event, including a really refined strategy for Joe, the new NPC. That gives quite possibly one of the most valuable pet shards in the game, as well as a ton of other rewards. I didn’t realize you could get easily four safari eggs for every pet you donate. That is actually kind of insane as well. I really wanted to find the BEST strategies for ALL aspects of this event, and I think I did! Hope this video was helpful! 🔥
Thanks again for all of the support! ♥
Great post
Great help 🙂 just tried submitting only with the bonus and I got 10safari eggs right away. Subbed to express my thanks
ANYONE CAN TELL ME VALUES OF HUGE TURTLE & SEMI & TITANIC IN KITS
Ma man
Lion shard is just 10 % boost
I put Swans, Cockatrices, Dragonflies, Golden Geese, HH, Blood Kiwis and all I got was a Safari Egg😅
lion pet shard is trash only give 10% passive buff also, the lion skill cant reduce by peacock, you need to wait 20m to use it…
Hi first of all i love ur vids super usefull ty
And second if u use the méthod i use u can get 3800 points for every full backpack of safari type crops
The méthod is just by having 4 pack bee and 4 giant ant + the 50 max inventory from the ascension shop and its honesly super super good so i wanted to reminds that pack bees are very op .
Does hydra still do its skill after age 100?
Can the Lion Shard skill be reduced by peacocks or other cd reduction pets?
I have 4 bald eagles with rhino shards💀
Time to start farming lollipops
10:56 Isn’t it capped at 50% for koi and 50% for seal?
Do you maby have some ostriches that i can have im strugeling to get them
use bug eggs and then ostrich method i got all the shards because of it
isnt 8 of cape buffalo too op bc it give like 14-15% each for safari plants, orange delight is safari and uncommon so i think full team of cape buffalo with orange delight kinda op bc if we need mutations we just can duplicate fruit like from zen event with moon cats
Even if we reach 290b there wont be anytime to get the lion
Common pets of high level give a lot of points… a level 50 dog for example.
Joe is a scam. Ahahaha
do mutations on pet not matter when submitting to joe?
TY ❤
Bro amazing breakdown. Def. subscribing!
You got the calculations horribly wrong broskie. The correct formula is Rarity + (Age – 1)
Rarity points are:
Common: 10
Uncommon: 20
Rare: 30
Legendary: 40
Mythical: 50
Divine: 60
Prismatic: 70
How do I know these? I data mined them..
bro shards boost is not that crazy it is like 10% from lion one . But ability is good
Sorry to say this but we ain't getting lion cuz 290b?
I'm still trying to figure out how you made your ramp without pulling your hair out. Thanks for all you do!
If anyone has a mega mimic or titanic mimic or good mimic ill trade my rainbow swan for it or rainbow swan for 4 egals
I put my 100yr old cockatrice in for 3 fuc*ing seed packs
Can someone gift me 2 rhinos my username redchilll2
