kinda want to have a ledge where i can put plants on and then have the water level come up to it as i can plant in the water and maybe some cherry shrimp.
i think im going to use some wire and spray foam either way crushed rock to make the ledge.
but im new to having more aquatic build so my question for this subreddit is what substrate do i use in the ledge and do i have to have some water seep into the substrate at the bottom by poking holes in the foam or just using like a aqua soil and a little fountain and pump.
i wanted to keep this relatively low tech

Is that a UNS 90L?
Yeah I have the same tank. Really hard to do much without unless you can sufficiently move water down the length of it. Like a stream tank.
