Bought this cardon when it was 18” tall in a medium pot from a reputable nursery ~10-12 years ago. The label on it said it would grow to 3-5’. Not sure how long we can keep it. We are using closet jacks to push it away from the wall. We love him. His name is Jax. He’s now adorned with Christmas lights.

Cut the top, that way you will have two cactus and it won’t reach the top

Are you trying to push it away from the wall to stop it hitting the eaves? And what’s a “closet jack”?

4 man crew and relocate it to another part of the property.

Bro simple solution here and really the only and right thing to do; your gonna have to move the house OR you could make a cut out in the house to give Jax the space he deserves!!

Once in the ground, do you water it or is it a maintenance free plant?

That’s so neat! What a cool history. It also looks great against the color of the house.
