Every now and again something truly unique comes our way and this is it. Ficus misfiggy. Tom, I’m not quite sure where you picked this terrific plant up from, but let’s hear the story. Yeah, we’re growing this in the sunset and the Southern Living program. And what really attracted me to it is a couple of things. Compact, 3 to four feet tall. I mean, I’ve never seen any other fig that compact. It’s amazing, isn’t it? It really is amazing. great branching. So, we get good low branching, perfect for the homeowner use or even on a commercial landscape. I could just see these scattered around as small shrubs and they have fruit like all other fus. Uh they have a very delicious tasting fruit and they’re low water use. You know, once they’re established, they’re pretty darn reliable. Great plants for the landscape. They really are. Um I think all the all the fruing figs originated from around the Mediterranean. So, for those of you into the Mediterranean garden, look, this is a mustave. But this is a plant you can use anywhere in America. In the warmer regions, it’s going to be in ground and in a container. In the colder regions, it’s going to be in a container. And it’s certainly worth taking the extra effort to bring the plant into the garage during the winter time so you give it some protection. Keep it like above 45°, you’ll be absolutely fine. Um, terrific green foliage. So, a quick question. How would you prune this? Because the plant’s only going to get four to five feet tall and wide. So, I think in late winter, early spring, just, you know, just a light pruning just to get some of these larger branches out and just to build that that little bit lower branching. But we’ve done a lot of the work already for for a homeowner. I mean, this is a ready to go plant. Put it in their container, this beautiful decorative container. We sell it in other container sizes as well, so you could put it in other types of containers or directly into the home landscape. Perfect. There you have it. What you see is what you get.
