I spent a full two years researching before even starting this tank. From the very beginning, I had to figure out how to properly section off the water area so it would stay contained in one spot. The setup includes a running waterfall system, though it’s not on constantly. Everything is on a timer to keep things running smoothly. Even the misting system is programmed to spray twice a day for 5 and 10 seconds. The waterfall only runs at night to mimic the natural humidity spike they’d experience in the wild. I also use a temperature and humidity monitor that I track and record throughout the day. Every detail was thought through, right down to the plants, which are arranged from smaller in the front to larger in the back for a natural depth effect. I’m also super aware that crested geckos aren’t strong swimmers, which is why I carefully filled the water area with rocks that slope toward the land. With the rocks in place, there’s no possible way for her to drown. I even added mini lily pads to help break the fall, just in case. This isn’t just a tank thrown together. It’s the result of years of research, planning, and patience.
