I wanted to share the pignut hickory in my back yard showing off this morning. I'll probably be back here soon with pics of the trunk and base to ask how to better support its health this spring.
My house is 47 years old, so I suspect this tree at least 50 years old, if not 10-20 yrs older. Would love a more knowledgeable guess!
Pictured also with the treeline is a very tall leaning white oak. I love that tree too, but it's been through a lot and I'm terrified it will topple the hickory tree within the new few severe weather events. I can't convince my husband to pay to remove it yet!
