SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (KVOA) – Construction on the east side of North Garden Avenue is set to begin on Nov. 11, as part of the ongoing North Garden Avenue Streetscape project.

The first phase of this project involved closing the west side of the street to install a new underground drainage system and make various improvements. With that phase complete, work will shift to the east side.

During this new phase, the west side of the street will remain open for northbound traffic only, while the east side will be closed until the end of March 2026. Access to businesses and homes on the east side will primarily be through side street entrances or temporary ramps.

For the first one to two months of this phase, one-way traffic will continue as crews install an underground storm drain system on the east side. Once completed, two-way traffic will resume while additional improvements like sidewalks and streetlights are made.

Originally slated for completion in December, the project has been delayed due to weather and supply chain issues and is now expected to conclude in March.

Drivers are advised to proceed with caution, slow down, and watch for construction personnel. Pedestrians should avoid the construction area and adhere to all warning signs.
