No. Dont fill it up. Just put like 3 seeds in there. When they sprout up, cut all but one. Also soak the entire pod for like 10 minutes before you put the seeds in. Do not add any nutrients to the water yet. If you have grow caps for the pods, use them. If you are worried about getting algae/mold on the pod, use a seed cover.
