Longwood Gardens will host A Gem of a Holiday Season, the 2025-2026 edition of A Longwood Christmas, running from Nov. 21, 2025, through Jan. 11, 2026, in Kennett Square.
According to a Longwood Gardens news release, the conservatories will showcase jewel-inspired color schemes — blue, red, green, and gold — along with crystal ornaments, luxurious fabrics, and gemstone-like lighting. The Music Room will feature a 12-foot tree from a jewelry box crowned by a ruby-red bow and complemented by mirrors, metallic accents, and mineral specimens on loan from the Delaware Museum of Nature and Science.
Horticultural displays will showcase floral beauty in seasonal abundance. Visitors to Longwood will encounter thousands of colorful poinsettias, fragrant paperwhites, amaryllis, and other floral finery exhibited throughout the conservatories. Living wreaths and trees complement glowing crystal forms made of echeveria, along with a 22-foot concolor fir adorned with ornaments in deep blue, cobalt, plum, and gold.
Outdoors, guests will be enchanted by a display of more than half a million lights throughout the gardens. Illuminated trees and floating gem shapes will shimmer on the Large Lake. Additional highlights include the Wildlife Tree, adorned with faux pearls, gilded oyster shells, and natural accents of millet and seaweed. Visitors will also encounter the Meadow Tunnel of Lights and the Garden Railway, featuring G-scale model engines and passenger cars.
Taste of Christmas culinary experiences held from Dec. 21-24 and 26-30 will enable guests to enjoy chef-prepared sweet and savory selections, as well as carved-to-order options. Desserts, nonalcoholic beverages, a hot chocolate station, house wines, seasonal local craft beers, a cash bar, and a themed cocktail will be available. Special tickets are required in addition to admission to Longwood Gardens.
Admission to the holiday display is by timed admission tickets. Tickets can be purchased in advance for a specific date and time. The cost is $45 for adults and $25 for youth (ages 5-18). Members require free, timed reservations every day. Gardens Premium Members and Innovators do not require reservations. Tickets and reservations are available on the Longwood Gardens website.
