Guests were invited to explore the landscaped site of Paulton’s Park after usual park closing hours when the New Forest attraction hosted its annual charity Gardens Open Evening.

Those attending were also able to hear from the park’s expert gardening and management team about the history of the gardens, plus benefit from day-to-day maintenance tips.

The grounds of the Paultons Estate were transformed in the 18th century into naturalistic landscaped gardens by the renowned landscape architect, Capability Brown. Many of his original layouts are still evident today within the park’s meticulously curated and themed gardens.

One hundred per cent of the ticket cost for the 2025 event will be donated to the park’s charity partners, Lymphoma UK, Young Lives vs Cancer, Southampton Hospitals Charity (Children’s Hospital), and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

The Trekking Tractors, Rio Grande Train, and Dino Tour Company rides remained operational to take visitors through the plants surrounding the park’s rides and attractions.

James Mancey, deputy managing director at Paultons Park, said: ‘Lymphoma UK, Young Lives vs Cancer, Southampton Children’s Hospital, and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance are all incredibly deserving and important charities that provide vital services in our county. Our Gardens Open Evening is just one way that we raise charitable donations throughout the year and also provides a lovely opportunity to connect with our local community.

‘We work hard to preserve and maintain the gardens across the 140 acres of Paultons Park. The landscape is incredibly historic and forms a vital part of our heritage. We’re delighted that so many of our guests enjoy the beauty of the diverse gardens we cultivate here – from the main gardens surrounding where Paultons House once stood, to the tropical planting area, our serene Japanese gardens, and the African-themed Jungle Falls Garden.’
