My 1 month old small ecosphere jar now has MANY of these small flies? I only added few spring tails initially.

My 1 month old small ecosphere jar now has MANY of these small flies? I only added few spring tails initially.


What could that be? Should I remove all of them, I no longer see any springtails who are alive

    Normal stage in ecosphere growth. They’re fine, you can remove if they really bug you but I wouldn’t bother unless they start escaping.

    Springtails are REALLY good at staying hidden until they have a big population. They will outcompete the fungus gnats eventually as long as conditions are alright, and they’re pretty durable so you’re probably fine.
