Welcome to our channel! We are Joel and Emma, a couple living full-time in our Escape E23 travel trailer along with our two loving dogs, Samantha and Colt. Our life on the road is centered around the freedom and joy that full-time RV living brings. We have chosen a simple and independent lifestyle that allows us to explore new places and enjoy the beauty of nature at our own pace.
Our travel trailer is not just a home; it is our _cozy living machine_ that supports our desire to live fully and freely. We rely entirely on solar power to meet our energy needs, which allows us to boondock 100% of the time. Boondocking is staying in places without hookups or services, which gives us the ability to camp in remote and peaceful locations away from crowded campgrounds. This lifestyle lets us experience true liberty and self-reliance.
We are passionate about sharing our journey and the lessons we learn from living on the road. Through our videos, we aim to inspire others to consider full-time RV living or van life as a way to gain mobility and independence. Traveling to new destinations regularly has opened our eyes to the wonders of different landscapes and communities. It has also strengthened our appreciation for the simple pleasures of life and the true value of freedom.
Our channel offers insights into managing life in a small space, using solar energy efficiently, and making the most of boondocking opportunities. We discuss practical tips for maintaining a travel trailer, staying comfortable while living off-grid, and finding the best spots to park and enjoy nature. We also share stories about our travels with Samantha and Colt, who are an important part of our adventure.
If you are interested in learning more about full-time RV living, solar power systems, and the joys of a mobile lifestyle built on freedom and discovery, you will find helpful information here. We invite you to join us on this journey by subscribing to our channel and turning on notifications. Follow along as we explore new places, live simply, and embrace the independence that comes with life on the road. We look forward to sharing many more moments from our _cozy escape_ with you.

How many trains went by last night? None. Absolutely none. I I am amazed. Yeah, it’s a apparently a slow rail day or I guess they’re maybe they’re not working on the weekends or something, but we slept well. Yeah, surprisingly well. Mhm. Yep. And uh I mean for a gravel lot, what more can you ask for? Yeah. Nice little town. Emma had to go to that coffee stand. I don’t know. She suckered us into that one. Okay. I’m pretty sure that Joel started that one. I did not. I did not. Uh we are going to go ahead and rattling rattling rattling. I’m going to go ahead and dump our tanks real quick. And then I have an approximate location maybe 35 miles down the way. It might actually be an established site. I I’m not sure. The the reviews seem mixed. And when I looked at it from Google Maps, uh satellite view, it’s it’s not clear that there is or is not signs. So, that would be cool. And if that doesn’t work, then we’ll just keep scooting. Um we are almost to Don’t miss the turn there. We’re almost to 20,000 subscribers. That’s kind of a big deal. Yeah, kind of a Also, I totally figured out why our channel isn’t growing like faster, which I’m totally like I’m not in any, you know, whatever. We’ve made such a great little community here. I think we have like the best Oh, man. Um, but the reason is is because our most popular videos are tech videos. And guess who doesn’t subscribe to RV channels? Tech people. Tech people. They don’t, you know, most the vast majority, you know, we’re in a niche. We’re in a niche. And uh I totally accept that. But at the same time, the tech videos are just just so popular. Uh if you look, I think we’re well over 530,000 views on just one video alone, which is big for a small channel like ours. So, but what happens though is that if those tech folks don’t click, yeah, I want to watch that video. YouTube goes, oh, okay, then we’re not going to share it with anybody. That’s I mean that makes sense. Why would they keep sharing a video that nobody cares about, right? So anyways, uh somebody else at the dump station, so clearly we’re good to use it. Just hang back. And how lovely is this? Nice people, nice quiet sleep, free dump station, free fill. Doesn’t get better than this. Dumping your tanks is one of the things that some folks take for granted. Others don’t even know where to start and they think it’s real icky. Obviously, I don’t find it gross in the slightest. Even Emma doesn’t think it’s that bad. No. But while I would have made a video for you, we don’t want to hold up the line back there. And long story short, though, this only takes maybe a minute or two. It’s real clean. It’s real easy. Very simple stuff. I know some folks though, they take a good while. They’ll start a party out here like in the movie RV. We generally break up these duties. And I don’t know how I ended up with the crappier part of the equation. It’s funny. Um, actually, so Reuben, uh, there was a gentleman named Ruben who emailed and goes, “Hey, instead of having Emma hold the hose like this, um, which we have a little 10footer here, little nice short guy, uh, generally does the trick. Uh, there’s actually a little deal that you can get. You can twist it on. You can see these, um, notches. Now, it only works on some of them, not all of them. So, it has to be a spec, but it’s basically a 3D printed deal, and it’s like 13 14 bucks, I think, on Amazon. Basically though, you screw the uh hose into that. So, that holds the hose and then you twist it on and it holds everything in place. It’s actually a pretty cool invention. However, uh the reason we don’t do that, there’s uh two reasons. One, we would want 100% lose that thing. We like to close our hose. We don’t want anything crawling in there, you know, whatever. We like to keep it closed. So, it just be another separate part. Yeah, we’d definitely lose that. Um, but also, uh, the vent tube where water can come out is much smaller than the intake tube. So, the intake hose that goes through into the the fresh water is like this big. The vent tube is only maybe that big. And so, there’s a big volume difference. I don’t want to break anything. But, it is one of those things where if you’re just holding it though, the water also spurts out around the hose. Yeah. Speaking of, shut her down. And so you can see, but also we don’t have a huge tank on this. It’s like 49 gallons, I think it is, something like that. And so it’s not a it’s not a big deal at all if you know it’s good exercise if nothing else, I guess. It’s I mean, you’re not it’s not having to be like I’m going to call this exercise. You’re just like holding it in place. You’re not even lifting it. So that’s a good thing. That’s the cleanest spot of our trailer right now. I will say though, it has become kind of a challenge to get it as dirty as possible. This we’re it’s going to it’s in need of a good bath. But you can actually see some of the streaks um in the front of this trailer. The front the bugs that are on the front of the truck is like oh it’s so it’s so crazy. even here. Uh but I mean then again, it’s a traveling home and we’re traveling and ah it is no longer summer officially the first day of fall. Yes. How exciting is that? I like to me. Yeah. But being does it’s the first day of autumn and we love donuts and cider. Um or uh what are those blueberry? Those are just donuts, right? Blueberry donuts that we just donuts. Those were so delicious. I I personally like the apple or I mean the um turnovers. Yeah. Yeah, those are big. But uh especially cider. It kind of hurts my stomach if I have too much. But a little bit or uh raspberry cider. Oh, that’s so good. But uh being that that is the case, we need to find a spot. Latens that is it’s kind of by Olympia Washington. I think they had a wonderful farm. I’m sure we’ll find something. Actually, probably out here. Uh, we’re heading south, so there might be something kind of south of Yellowstone. Yeah, I’ll find something. I’ll get it somewhere. We’re getting closer and closer to Yellowstone. Um, I’m sure. I’m sure. I mean, man, I will say again though, these folks out here are just the nicest. They had last night. Um, so we went actually back out to that little uh kind of looked like a street fair kind of thing. Fall fest or whatever they were calling it. It was fall fest. So they’re all excited about the the fall harvest, the autumn harvest. So ah you got to love it. You got to people were u square dancing and and um what do you call it? Cowboy dancing. I don’t know what it’s not line dancing but it’s like swing dancing almost. They were swinging dancing. There was fellas picking up their ladies and swinging them on both sides of them. I’m like, “Woo!” We Emma refuses to do it to me, but whatever. I said, “I’ll get a little jumping start, running start.” Oh, anyways. Yeah. Let’s hit the road. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Applause] [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Can Do you guys believe this? This is ridiculous. I mean, we can’t lose. Amazing. Oh, so we have two other camping friends. And it looks like the the owners aren’t home. This This side has a nice barbecue pit. Can’t use it right now. There’s a fire band. Did you say that? Yeah, cuz Yeah, some areas I didn’t see that fire band. Some areas probably should have a ban and then don’t and then vice versa. This is just incredible. I mean, this is our front yard and that’s our backyard. Like, we This is BLM land. Um, just amazing. If you’re wondering, no, we did not unhook our truck cuz we just don’t need to. I know some folks are like, “Well, what if you need to go into town?” We don’t. We don’t. And we have our bikes. Yeah, we do have our bikes. Got our awning out and I got the windows open. Oh, just I’m so glad we got the front window on this because we get that that Well, especially because we put our sign in the back. Oh, there it is. Stage one fire restrictions. So, oh, campfires or other fires are prohibited outside of approved recreation sites as designated on the fire. Oh, so maybe you could have a campfire in that little fire ring. It looks like it to me. There was some I thought I read another sign somewhere that said no fires period, but maybe I’m wrong. Camping limit 14 days. How do you beat this, guys? Let’s look at our uh check out our neighbors here. We got a Cougar by Keystone. They’ve got some nice big windows on that. Oh, even Starlink. Fancy. Yes, indeed. Nice enough setup. Yeah, they look a little bit more level. You’re a little tiny bit towards the passenger side. Not a big deal at all, but And then check out this Aljo. So, custom paint job, which I’m always a fan of. Yes, almost always. Sometimes people get a little loose with their goose. Get a little more artistic than I would. Let’s say that. Uh, and actually, they’re right by the outhouse here, but they actually have these little slim solar panels. They actually they have a little solar deal in the window as well. Um, oh, they’re from Oregon. They Yeah, upgraded LED lights. That’s kind of cool. I don’t want to intrude too much, but they have more solar panels on this side. So, I don’t know what they’ve got going on the roof, but that’s a cool Yeah, another solar panel there. Those solar panels, I don’t imagine they’re more than 50 watts each. Small. They look a little older, which nothing wrong with that, but uh Oh, did they put a little panel on the vent or is that just paint? That’s just paint. Okay. I was going to say they’re maximizing. Uh those panels though, you could easily slap them on the side of a trailer or whatever. And they actually they look pretty good cuz they’re all black. Yeah. Um I will put solar on anything. Emma’s a little more conservative than that. I am. That’s true. And then whatever I don’t know what’s going on here. Is this some sort of It looks like private property to me. But look at this old old Chrysler old Dodge. Oh man. Missing our headlights. Oh, cabins out here. This is great. Sam and Colt are going to have a blast here. And I I I we have service. So I could see us staying for couple days. Couple days. Look at that lake. [Applause] So it says seasonal visitors like tourists, many birds flock to Andis Lake at certain times of the year to meet their seasonal habitat needs. The white pelican. That would be neat to see. Mhm. We also have swans. A tundra swan. Oh, I think we got here just in the nick of time. Oh yeah, there’s a a truck camper coming on in. Boat launch down there. Wow, this is lovely. And the temperature is perfect. Oh, that little bit of breeze. Wow. I don’t even know. Like I don’t know what to say other than Wow. We’re still another 80 or so miles, maybe a little more from Yellowstone National Park, but this is the same mountain range, a rocky mountain range. Beautiful out here. Yeah, you could definitely do some boondocking, you know, just outside Yellowstone, but it’s such a large park that does it, you know, that it’s a good drive. It’s a good drive in. But [Applause] golly, I bet there’s some good fishing in there. Lake Andis got like three boats down there now. Yeah. Hanging out. What a good day. Good. I like, you know, I feel like a lot of times we only see men fishing, but there’s a couple that’s going fishing together. Yeah. I’m not a big fan of fishing. I find it particularly boring. I think it’s great. It’s peaceful. I think it’s real peaceful. It’s uh And then I’m We don’t eat, you know, I don’t eat fish. Uh you don’t really eat fish. You’ll have sushi sometimes. I will eat it. It’s just got to be cooked right. And I can’t cook it right. So therefore, I have to get it when it’s I’m not at home. Probably for the best. Chicken and steak doesn’t stink like fish does. Nothing stinks like fish toast, really. I will eat it though. I do enjoy some fish. I’m kind of picky, but I do I will eat it. Yeah. Oh, it’s all right. Sushi is my jam, though. But it’s a peaceful it’s it’s it’s a it’s a it’s an easy way to practice mindfulness. You hear the water slapping up on the dock or the boat, whatever you have. You know, you get to interact with hopefully you interact with some beautiful nature. Yeah. Nothing better than a beautiful rainbow trout or how fun. [Music] The weather has sure taken a a bit of a shift here. Yeah, I think the high tomorrow was only supposed to be like 55Β° and well, it did storm on us for a little bit. We definitely washed our panels and then the sun came back out and I thought I was time-lapsing the whole time. Turns out I was using the wrong setting. So, um, got a second time lapse that you will have seen by now. And I mean, pretty intense storm. Yeah, the storm was pretty pretty crazy. It got real dark out here for a while. Yeah. Uh there is one you can still kind of see the dark clouds moving that way. Yeah, I think one the second storm kind of went that way. Yeah. That said, um we did have a pretty good we had two different conversations with each of us. So I c caught up with my my buddy Mike. Um we talked about a lot of current events, you know, things to catch up on and it’s always a good chat. And then with my mom, see how she’s doing. They are loving Nevada. Uh especially now that the weather is getting a little nicer. Uh well, cooler, I should say. Yeah. She said it’s muggy. Like the humidity is rising, which is a lot of flies out here. But you also caught up with your dad and your I caught up with my dad and my grandmother. Yeah. So that’s kind of nice. It is a good thing we have service right now. So that was sort of the the idea. And I mean to have great ser we have 5G for whatever reason. We have 5G right out here in this incredible landscape. As you can see, Sam and Cole are having a great time. Oh, yeah. Oh, man. But check out this little cabin here. Uh maybe an old shed or cabin or I don’t know what, but yeah, this is kind of neat. This sort of looks like driftwood. There’s like worm uh marks on it. Wow. This would have been quite a spot, huh? I like the sunroof. It’s pretty nice. kind of anticipating a rainy day tomorrow. Yeah. Which will be nice. So, we’ve got topped up batteries, all that good stuff. Or um I guess we’ve been running the fridge all day and then as the cloud’s going over, I think we’re still at like 92%. So, can’t complain about that. I did pull our comforter out today, our big heavy comforter, because I don’t like to be cold at night, and I am a cold sleeper. And so, um while Joel may be comfortable, I am getting cold. Yep. I like I like to I like to sleep especially with my face very cool. Like if my face is like 50 degrees, I’m good. If it’s 34 32 degrees, that’s a little much. But yeah. Yeah. Um although we did try to kick on the furnace this morning and I think we have some dog fur or something or dust buildup or something like that. So we’ll have to I think we need to get a little shop back. One that can go both ways. Uh that might be a good video for us to make actually cleaning that. how to clean the furnace. Yeah, I I think I’ve done that before. I replaced the sail switch. Yeah. Um but I don’t know that the replacement is necessary, but I think we kept the old one just in case. We also have two replacements. Yeah. And two dogs that are going to keep these. Oh man. Yeah, that’s a whole thing. I thought about maybe trying to put like a net over it, but we also don’t want to um restrict air flow. Yeah. Yeah. Man, aren’t those clouds intense? Look at that. It’s also interesting because it sort of scoops up the mountain there. In tomorrow’s video, we’ll have to show you some of the changes we made. We pulled a bunch of stuff out. We’ve We’re always downsizing. Um optimizing. We Yeah, we have some things that are going to go in our bus when we get um you know, back that way cuz our bus is great storage right now. And yeah, I can’t wait to get back to that. Oh man. But all good stuff. All good stuff today. So, well, all righty guys. Well, thanks for watching. Feel pretty lucky. Pretty dang lucky. Yep. Yep. See you in the next video. Bye, guys.

Hey Guys, great video. Now I want to checkout Montana, never been ππππππππ
Emma finds the nicest locales to spend some daylight hours and overnight stays. Lovely lake and those were some interesting clouds. Welcome Autumn for sure!
Aye! I'm a techie and I subscribed π
To be fair I haven't had time to watch YouTube in a bit π
Cool little roadster cruise that went the opposite direction, loving the road trip β€.
That's a great spot.
Greetings earth roamers! Hey what was that bright spot in the middle of your shot during the opening? Was that a reflection or something on the lens? What a cool line of old cars on the road, pretty cool. And as always, love me some drone shot and the time lapse was fantastic. I don't know if I missed it or not but was there a pay station at that BLM campground or was it first come first served? Anyway, what a nice spot!
That is a cool site; I bet the dogs will love that lake π
π CONGRATS on 20K ! ! ! KUDOS and WELL DONE ! !
Fellow Escapee! Excited to find out about your partnership! How do you find these kinds of spots and I would like to know you're guidance on urban boondocking?
I just had hot apple cider and a cider donut from a local farm here in Massachusetts
