It’s November 5th and my Drosera decided to give me a flower! Go figure.

This little fella has done exceptionally well since I brought him home earlier this year. There has been lots of new growth, but I noticed the beginning of a flower just last night.

Can’t wait to see what colour it is!

You have aphids, you’re going to have to treat the plant for them.

Treat the aphids with BioAdvanced 3 in 1. That’s what worked for me.

It will have pink flowers, but make sure you take care of those aphids soon or the flowers might end up deformed or not fully develop.

Why wouldn’t this sub-tropical hybrid, grown indoors, not be confused about when to flower? It’s getting virtually no cues as there are no wet and dry seasons, no real changes in temperature, and minimal changes in lighting.

Of course it’s going to flower whenever it wants.

They flower all year long when kept warm and under grow lights… oooor also when they have a massive food source crawling all over them.
