I just got this tiny pot of string of pearls a few weeks ago and I repotted it when I got home into this 1 inch larger pot. I used succulent/tropical potting mix that has good drainage and didn’t bury it too deeply. This week it has been looking so sad!! I water a bit every few days because the soil seemed to stay very wet. It’s about 4 feet from a window that gets light all day. Is there anything I can do to save it? Thanks!

Way too much watering. These need to be watered every 2-3 weeks in the summer and this time of the year only once every 6-7 weeks! You’re drowning her. Get her out of that soggy soil.

Looks like over watering. I only water when the pearls start to get a little soft and squishy. And that pot is very tall for SoP. Their root systems are small

Way too much water, pot too big, not enough sun. They like a lot more sun than we’re sold. I only water when the windows on the pearls close up. With delicate hands, and a lot of patience, you can water propagate the firm stems with pearls. I did it with a shot glass of water and very tiny strips of painters tape to hold them in the water. The roots are teeny and wispy and it took months for me to get them where I could plant them. Now they’re in a pot just a bit bigger than a shot glass and they’re thriving.

Ya drowned it, squish the pearls before you water, if they are firm and look like the second picture, they don’t need water

I water my string of pearls when I remember that I haven’t watered them in a while and they seem happy. Usually not more often than 2 weeks. I also keep them in terracotta since it’s porous

  6. Oh these guys don’t really like to live, so you’re doing great.
