sorry, but I didn’t see where I was supposed to add the text.

While I was out of town, my partner ordered three young coconut Palms and did not have landscapers plant them.

Eventually he and I put them in the ground, and I used foot-long cork screws steaks, rope, and straps in order to stabilize them. This was about three months ago.

I have no idea how it happened, but the ropes became very slack. The cork screw steaks have not budged and the knots are all still tied very tightly. Maybe the straps just worked their way down the trunk, but I don’t think so.

I would like to try bracing it with two by fours, but I don’t know where on the trunk I should be putting the circumferential straps. Every video that I have seen does it with much taller palm trees and a much more defined trunk.

Does anyone have any constructive suggestions how to definitively brace this young tree?

Why are you staking it? These guys evolved to tolerate hurricane winds.
They don’t have a stem really when they’re young, so I’m not sure how to help other than saying I’ve never had to stake any of mine (I have about a dozen).
