The plants are 27 inches high and all have tassles but no silks yet. Most of them focussed on producing those side shoots rather than growing tall. This is my first time growing corn.

    My understanding is that it’s good to grow corn in blocks of no less than 5 feet by 5 feet to ensure good pollination. You also want them in a sunny spot with fertile soil (good amount of nitrogen). This way the corn grows tall and gives a couple of cobs each.
