Gardening Naturally has improved order fulfilment efficiency by 3,500% and tripled its revenue after introducing the Orderwise ERP and Warehouse Management System (WMS).

Orderwise implementation

The Cotswolds-based retailer operates seven eCommerce websites and supplies over 60 garden centres across the UK. With a highly seasonal business model, in which 70% of its annual sales occur between April and July, efficient warehouse operations and logistics are considered vital for growth and meeting customer expectations. Following the introduction of Orderwise, the firm is now able to dispatch up to 5,000 orders a day.

Gardening Naturally manages a complex setup across multiple sales channels-its own websites, Amazon, eBay, and other marketplaces. According to the company, integrating these operations using Orderwise has enabled greater automation and transparency, improving overall efficiency.

Operational transformation

“Before Orderwise, it could take three hours to pick and process 200 orders. We can now do that in just five minutes. At our busiest, we’re dispatching up to 5,000 orders a day. Without Orderwise, there’s absolutely no way we could have scaled to meet that demand or grown from £2.7 million to £8 million turnover in just two years.”

Gardening Naturally first began using Orderwise eight years ago. Since then, the company has streamlined its eCommerce and warehouse operations, automating significant parts of the order fulfilment workflow. This includes full integration with automatic packing machinery, which has contributed to reducing processing time and increasing the daily volume of orders that can be handled.

The system’s advanced delivery and courier rules have further improved dispatch accuracy; 99% of orders are now automatically matched with the appropriate courier service. Real-time visibility across sales channels has enabled the business to maintain same-day shipping commitments and meet Amazon Prime performance requirements.
