I’m in New Zealand – grew a beaut of a bush last year and got about 40 red, shiny, 8-14cm long fruits. I dried most of them in a desiccator oven (they turned this darker red/brown) and have loved using them. Not too spicy, but with a nice gentle warmth when I use them dried with the seeds and veins included.
Sadly, the plant I bought was just called ‘red chilli’ and I’m having trouble finding what type it is. Don’t think it’s cayenne, even though the garden centre do!
Yes, I’ve tried germinating the seeds (about 50 so far!), but the desiccating seems to have destroyed any hope of them having kids.
Any ideas please fam?
