Stop trying to control your orchid, let it grow and enjoy it as it chooses to grow, that’s my opinion

Itâs hard for us but the plant will be ok. The plant is really what matters. Leaves and roots grow making spikes possible.
To train a spike gently begin by tying string gently around the spike drawing it towards the stake but not pulling it all the way to the stake. Then after some time you can either add another string up the spike or tie one below and slide the original one up and make it a little tighter. I tie mine in bows so I can untie them or in loose knots that are easy to untie. You can just keep experimenting after this and you will get a feel for how it works. Nobody told me to do this. I figured it out by myself. I have not broken a phal spike yet. If I did I wouldnât fret much. Often they will provide a replacement đ. I cut one once to let the plant grow and it sent up another. I let it have its way. The spike was weak, just a few flowers. đ¤ˇââď¸
Donât be sad. Grow orchids to give yourself joy and see them as being there for that purpose alone. Learn and grow. đ

Dont worry! As long as the spike has more than 3 nodes counting from the base it should keeo growing from on of those nodes!
