Came across these stacked logs in redwood forest near eureka california. Curious if this is an artistic thing, the challenge of finding the perfect size logs to fit the gap? Or is there some function it serves?

Paintball or airsoft bases to hide behind. Used to make similar stuff in the woods as a kids.

  3. What’s up Humboldt! Yeah pretty sure that’s someone building a fort, very very slowly.

Only if you want the trees to die. Bark needs to stay dry. Those logs will keep it wet. Remove them if you want the trees to survive.

Could be part of a fire lay so the heat comes back to the person sleeping. Done this before when camping.

Well reading the comments I do believe it’s cover for paintball. I thought it may have been like part of a camping set up. Like if a tent and equipment was there it would be part of the set up
