So some people say, “Brooke, you should just prune your tomato plants.” So my pruning method for tomatoes looks a little something like this. From about here to here is the phase that I call when I had hope and when I had the time and when I had a plan. I was pruning suckers. I was pruning for air flow. Everything was wonderful. From about here to here, the weather got really nice. Okay, there were barbecues. There were patio happy hours. There was other stuff going on. Okay, so we ended up with double liters, triple liters, but like everything was fine right here all the way to the tippy top. That’s what I call the stage of overwhelm. And that’s what I also call the stage of nature’s in charge. Now, in all seriousness, one of my biggest lessons this year is if some doesn’t go to plan or you’re not on top of everything the way you normally are, it’s fine. Your garden is still going to produce and everything’s going to be aok.
