I have 6 large boston ferns, pythos and other hanging plants.

How do you hang them outside and over the winter?

Are you asking how to hang a plant, or how to overwinter tropical plants and ferns?

The short answer is, it depends where you live, but if it gets cold out, you don’t. Freezing temperatures will kill them. If you don’t have room to bring them indoors, you can make small propagations, overwinter those indoors, and let them grow out again next spring.

I’m in NY. I hang them on my fence in the summer! Now that it’s November. I’ve sprayed them down for pests. I sprayed them in the shower. Now I hang them in a spare room away from some other plants. I actually just hang them on my curtain rods. If you live in an area that has frost. These plants won’t survive hanging above the ground. The ground is insulating the roots of the plants that are in the ground. So that ground plants have their roots cozy enough to start again in the spring.
