if you’re set on collecting the leaves instead of mulching into the lawn, you can use your mower on the highest setting and with the bag. it will chop the leaves a bit before bagging and make them more compressible. also less bending over to fill the paper bag.

Lay it on the ground and rake it into the bag to start

Why are you bagging leaves is the real question
Combatical
Am I the only one mulching my leaves into my lawn? Its a good source of nutrients for it, I understand if you’ve got a couple oaks or something that put out more leaves than you can possibly mulch but this doesnt look too bad.

Leaf mold

No.. I mow and get free nutrients for my lawn. Can’t relate
Genkiijin
Lay the bag on the ground and sweep the leaves into it.
This is the best option out there. You can stuff and smush a whole lotta material into it, including sticks without tearing the bag
mikehill33
mulch instead, your back will thank you.
Puzzled_Vacation_440
Yes, putting in the Shute that keeps the bag open so you can load it.

Just mow over the leaves without a bag

Roll the bag down to the fill line. It creates structure and reinforces the bag so the lip doesn’t cave in every time you put something in.

One of the great things my city does is give these suckers out.

A worx mulcher works well to limit the number of bags. But I’d just mulch em and throw it back on the lawn

Be a lawn boss. Use the rake as your other hand. Pull the leaves towards you with an extremely short grip on the rake, use your other hand to grab the leaves. Walk to the bag and place them in.
I have two white oaks, two red oaks, a pig but hickory, and some other tree babies around my crib.

Just don’t do it folks, such a waste of time unless you enjoy torture

I haven’t bagged leaves since I left California 10 years ago.
Thinking back it’s such a weird concept to rake and bag leaves instead of just mulching them with a mower. I don’t know why they do that out west.

I shovel the leaves into my truck bed. Throw a tarp or some other debris and take them to the dump. If any of your stuff is bagged at my local dump they make you empty it and take the bags with you.

Check amazing for a “leaf bag chute”. It’s sort of like a funnel that holds open the bag and makes it easier to dump leaves into the bag.
Direct-Pain-1813
Use a tarp. Rake them on the tarp. Roll it like a joint and drop the cylinder in the bag. Pull out the tarp and you are done.

I just leaf blow them into my neighbors lawn overnight. That way he thinks there was a big wind storm and doesn’t question the small gasoline engine noise. It’s the loud wind.

I lose my temper sometimes just trying to open the dang things… especially if there’s wind
Do yourself a favor and take a trip to Lowe’s (or any big box hardware store).

Local store selling them 19.99 for 5. WTF
Much better for the grass to mulch the leaves into your lawn.
Get yourself a lawn bag chute like this one! Best $10 I ever spent. [lawn bag chute](https://www.homedepot.com/p/30-Gal-Leaf-and-Lawn-Chute-Plastic-Insert-Trash-Bags-LLCHD/317566815)
