Finally planting my fall container garden

[Music] [Applause] Hello everyone. This is Lenel and welcome to Planet and Prospering. I am attempting to plant my seeds again today and I have decided to bring you all along. So, uh I’m going to turn you around and uh I hope you enjoy watching me plant my seeds so so so late in the season for the fall. Okay. So, I um am attempting to plant again. Um I don’t know what I’m planning this time. I know in the first part I showed you um that I actually uploaded. I showed you three that I was going to plant. Today, it has rained in all of the pots that I have down here. And um I’m just going to plant as much as I can. Now, one of the things, uh, this cover crop right here is going out in my raised bed that I have in the yard, but I need to remove all of the dead grass and things like that. Still figure out what to do about the cat poop. Um, and then if I can get all that together and it’s safe to plant anything, I’ll go ahead and plant this cover crop to keep the grasses and all those things from growing in there. So, let me go ahead and get started. It’s late in the evening. Um, I still have to cook dinner. I apologize for my kitty in the not my kitty, the rooster in the backyard making all the fuss. Um, let’s see. I may have to adjust cuz I need to not have to bend down so low. Let me see where that is. Oh, perfect. Well, maybe not completely perfect. Let’s see if I can adjust you guys. Okay, right there. I hope the wind doesn’t blow my camera, my phone down. Okay, so I need to go out and cut. I have two more okra on my plant. Hush, sugar. Sugar. I’m sorry about the dog. Um, two more okra on my okra plants out there I need to cut. And I’ll do that after I do this. So, uh, I’m pretty sure they’re wet enough. I’m going to go in and pull out the weeds and things in here. I hope this actually um actually grows cuz what I planted in it the summer for the summer did not grow. Um, and the next time I go to like Walmart or some place like that, I’ll pick up another bag of potting soil. Um, I have to go in, excuse me, I haven’t done anything with my uh where I was collecting the leaves in the back. So, I got another chance to do that. I need to fix it up better. Um, I’ll do that, too. I don’t know if I’ll bring you along for all of that this time because I brought you with the other one and then I hardly used it. Um, let’s see. I had the box. I think these are already labeled or not. Okay, let me go grab a pin. Popsicle sticks. I noticed that they did a better job um over the summer. So, I’m going to use these to label this. Excuse me, y’all. I am still trying to get over whatever I caught from my one of my students. Okay, so arugula I will write and after the video um I will also put it on my calendar. 9 Shush. Okay. So, I go ahead and I write that and I’ll just stick it in a spot in here. And now I’ll get to planting my Ola. Okay. One of these popsicle sticks is kind of weird looking. So, I am just going to use that as my planter. I’m trying to protect the information that I have on the seed envelope. Okay. Have it open. Yep. The soil is good and damp. Of course, I’ll wet it down better once um in there. Let’s see. Put some soil to the side. Okay. So, they’re tiny seeds. So, I’m just going to barely push this over the top and I will water it down. I will water it down later. Maybe I should put these on my table. I think I will put them on the table down here. Next one. I’ll do spinach in this way. Pull out these so I can take them in and put them up. So, yeah, it has been a rough start to the school year and I’ve been sick. Yes, I’m throwing these on my porch for the most part. I’ll clean it down later. This one is not as wet as I thought it would be. So, I guess I have to go down and get the water hose anyways. So, I’m just basically pulling out the weeds that grew in this. I’ll take my blower and blow the debris off the off of the porch afterwards. Okay. So, this side is not as wet. Let me go grab the uh water hose. Okay. And I’ll just wet this down really good. And I’ll take my stick and go ahead and move some of the soil to the side so I can have coverage. So good to finally get to this. And I will do the same. Uh, these spinach seeds are kind of big. That’s interesting. I will be succession planting. Um, I may have to start them in the house. I don’t know. Um, but I’ll wait about a week, week and a half and plant some more. Okay. So, I need to make the signs for this one. They’re blocking different things apparently. One’s turned one way and one’s turned the other. Okay, mosquitoes are so bad out here, guys. Okay, I’ll put a little bit more water across that side. And I’ll cover them with the those pans that I had because my cat thinks these are these little things are her potty spots. and they’re not. So, stuck that in there. And that is a second pot done. Another little pot. And these pots came from the Dollar Tree, guys. Uh cheap. I punched holes in the bottom. Um, and this was Oh, I don’t remember. It was the only thing that grew. I want to say deal. Okay. I’m so glad to finally get this done. Um, some more changes is coming to the yard. Uh, we’ll see that. Um, some of the stuff will be done like I’m just breaking up the soil so I can get the seeds in. Um, some of it will be done like in the winter, the fall and the winter. Um, and some of it will have to wait until spring. I found y’all. I found a lawnmower. Um, I’m trying to now my car is in the shop. So, talking about talking about bad luck, I get a lot I have a lot of bad luck. I pray and I keep pushing. But I just took my car to the shop. It’s been uh needing to go to the shop for probably about a month. Um, but I just took it. I hit something on the road. I thought I was cleared, you know, like above it, high enough above it to miss it. Um, but apparently I wasn’t. And then my muffler got really loud. Uh, so this time I’m planting some lettuce that I got from as a gift from one of the companies that I ordered from. So, I’m just Oh, let’s the things that don’t need a lot of like deep deep uh soil. I’m planting in these smaller ones. And I have a bigger one that I’m going to put my turnups in. And I need to see what else I have. And I’m going to also show you my tomatoes. The last tomatoes for the fall peppers. Um different peppers. And the tomatoes. I’m so happy to have those. I did plant what is that? Is it kale? It’s either kale. And then I have another little pot with turn. So I may add some to that one um when I get to that point. These are also really tiny. So, I’m just going to spread them around. Okay. And there’s a good bit still in there. So, I will do some succession planning with those as well. And I’m just going to lightly cover them. And I hope I didn’t get them too deep. There some right there. [Music] Let me make this Another one. I’ll just pop in here. I make sure you guys are still recording. Yep, you are. Put this one on the table. My broccoli rob. What should I put? I think I’m going to put the turnup since they actually have bottoms in this big container. I’m going to take this down because the container on the heavy side after it rains. Okay, I hope I have enough stuff to cover all of this to keep the cat. Oh, I know what I can use. I’m good. I have something. Okay, so these are turnups. They will have turnup bottoms. I will make about three rows here. I hope I didn’t make that middle row too deep. I will also succession plant these. Um I can use these with not only the uh for me but for the chickens as well. So, Drop that in there. Wet it just a little bit. Okay. So, that is another plant, another pack of seeds planted. I have let’s see what I have left. I know I have kale. Oh, my bok choy h and my broccolini. I need a bigger container for the broccolini. And so I will probably plant that another day, like tomorrow, in one of my bigger containers that’s out there. Just bring it up closer. See, she’s already Can y’all see her? She’s already up there. See, she’s already up there. Stop, kitty. [Music] and I will get the head. I decided to go ahead and just do it. So, it needs to be wet down. The other container is now a huge ant bed. Um, so I I’ve sprinkled a little bit of First Saturday lime on that. Um, but I’ll take care of that later when I’m done with this cuz I wanted to go ahead and get this done uh while I can. I also sprinkled some first Saturday lime around on the ground around this. But I do have some regular ant killer that I’m also going to hit that container with and um do that. So, I’m going to plant in here the broccoli rob or yeah, broccoli rob, the blue dwarf blue curled kale, and the baby bok choy. Okay, so I have planted the kale, the bok choy, and the uh broccoli rob in here. I made a row of each and um I covered it with the netting to keep the bird and whatever else. I mean, not the bird. Well, maybe so too, but the cat out of it. I’ll secure it better tomorrow. Um, I’ll lean something on the sides to kind of deter her as well. I promise to show you guys what’s my last like tomatoes and peppers and I will show you that in just a second when I get some of this thing some of these things out of my hand. Okay, so you see my tomatoes right there and there’s some peppers back here. Um, some more peppers. Some hanging over there. There we go. Um, let’s see. Some here. Okay. I have some over here. Okay. My goji berry trees seem to be doing better since I brought them on the porch. Please excuse the doggy. My blueberry tree is doing good. I need to determine when I can trim it and keep it from getting so big in the pot as far as like up and stuff. And yeah, that is it. That is it. So, I want to thank everyone for taking some time out of your schedule to watch my video. So, I hope I help you with something. If you have questions, please leave them down in the uh comment box and uh you know, ask me whatever you need to ask. If it’s a question I can answer, I’ll answer. If not, I’ll tell you that I can’t answer it. Um this this is my fall garden, my fall container garden for 2025. Until later. Have a good one. Thank you for watching. So, don’t forget to like, subscribe, share, and comment. And uh I’ll see you guys later. Bye-bye. [Music] [Applause]
