As the seasons shift and autumn arrives, one constant delight that can illuminate your garden, beyond vibrant blooms, is spotting robins. With their distinctive red breasts and spirited personalities, they bring a splash of joy to what can often be rather dreary days.
For those hoping to entice robins into their gardens, the key ingredient is sustenance. Like any creature, tasty food serves as an excellent way to draw robins to your outdoor space, and there are particular delicacies they simply cannot resist.
According to bird specialists at Beaky Bites, there’s one everyday food they adore – sunflower hearts.
They declared that sunflower hearts are “healthy options robins love”. These morsels deliver the proteins and fats they require, reports the Express.
The experts continued “Sunflower hearts are particularly nutritious and are a robin favourite during breeding season. They are not only healthy but also very attractive to robins.”

Feeding methods prove equally crucial as the sustenance itself. Employing proper feeding approaches can significantly impact your success in drawing robins to your garden.
You can present sunflower hearts by sprinkling them across the ground or within platform feeders.
Since robins favour ground feeding, ground feeding trays represent “the best method” for distributing sustenance.
Robins favour ground feeding, meaning they will consume food from trays positioned on the earth or straight from the soil amongst the turf. This mirrors their natural feeding behaviour and helps them feel more secure and at ease.

In addition to sunflower hearts, suet pellets are an excellent way to attract robins. Particularly during the chillier months, suet offers the fat and energy that robins require to remain warm and lively.
Suet can be presented in a variety of forms, like suet balls and cakes, which are simple for the birds to consume and savour.
Mixing suet with sunflower hearts creates a nutritious and delicious feast for robins.
