I would have overseeded some of the existing turf for blending purposes but it will look fine in the spring. Best of luck!

Keep mowing it! By next fall it should be as thick if not thicker than existing turf. But tbh your existing turf doesnt look thicker just the individual grasses are bigger and longer. Your new grass will look a lot thicker than existing turf with some time IMO
Also agree you probably should’ve overseeded the whole yard for blending purposes. That Jonathan Green grass patch is sticking out a good bit.

From seed 20. May, overseed 1. September… Pretty thicken up, but hope will be more next year
