Has anyone tried growing agapanthus seeds? Worthwhile or don’t bother?

Nice! I keep meaning to do that. Such a waste really dead heading and not leaving a few to set seed.

Likely to take a few years to flower. Do you enjoy growing from seed, do you want hundreds of agapanthus plants? Fun project if you enjoy it and have patience.

Never intentionally, but my uncle’s patio is overrun with them, popping up in every pot and through gaps in the paving slabs, due to them self-seeding.

I grew all my agapanthus from seed (Headbourne hybrids). They’re fairly easy. They’re not as fancy as some of the modern varieties, maybe, but it’s waaay cheaper. I don’t bother saving seeds and growing more as I’ve enough and they slowly bulk up anyway. So, basically, go for it!
