I came back from a 2 week trip to find the pet sitter didn't water my bathroom peace lily. It's been 6 days and I've been good about re-watering her and I picked off most of the dry leaves to cultivate what is left, but now the water she use to drink up right away is staying in the bottom pan and overflows right away when I water her more. Plus the leaves are still drying out. Any tips on how I can revive her?
She sits next to the window and has a plant light over her for good measure. The plant light was on 8 hrs a day before and while I was gone, but I turned it off when I returned to give her time to recover from being baked without water.
The potting soil came from Costco potting mix. She seemed to be doing fine before I left on my trip.
I'm relatively new with plants and this is my first and only peace lily. Thank you!

She’s dramatic. Water her and she’ll perk up. You may lose some of the oldest leaves, but they’re drama queens
When i really missed watering my peace lily for 10 days, I gave him an hour long soak, and he took 3 hours to perk back up instead of immediate. It might take a while longer.
It might also help to lay off the light for a couple days while really giving her a good water. My peace lilies drink water like crazy when they’ve got a light on them, but they’re able to tolerate lower light, especially in a short rehab period
Mmmmmm water it
Had similar issue. Just give it a long soak from the bottom and it’ll perk up
When you pour water in soil it doesn’t disappear because the plant drinks it. The soil soaks up the water, similar to how a sponge soaks up water and the plant absorbs a little water. The soil dries because the water evaporates into the air, not bevause the plant drank it all. If water is pooling in the pot then the soil can’t soak up more, similar to how sponges have their limit too. Water pooling in the pot is very bad for plants, the roots will suffocate if they are in soggy soil. The soil should be slightly damp, not water logged
You don’t fix under watering by watering too much, just water normally and let the plant rehydrate itself. And don’t turn off the growlights, light is food for plants.
The leaves look more like the have temperature damage though, did the plant sitter open a window or turn on a heater?
Where’s its light source geez you have the blinds pulled.
Don’t do that when you have plants that rely upon that light to survive
You need to restore the balance between good and evil
