An Oswego man was recognized by the University of Illinois Extension in September with an Outstanding Illinois Master Gardener Award.
Tom Kopacz has been a Master Gardener since 2021. He was inspired by his wife, Linda, who had been one for more than 30 years.
A news release says Kopacz has taken on multiple roles within the organization, including greenhouse caretaker, patio installation project leader, new intern mentor, and more.
Kopacz was recognized at the 50th Annual Master Gardener Conference, held in Springfield.
