I just picked up this pan an pilea and noticed these things on the stem. Any idea what they are?

So yea actually I guess they can be roots if they are located at the base of the stem or where the stem meets the soil, it could be that your plant is active and healthy. They could be trichomes which are normal hair like appendages that appear on many plants including the pilea and trichomes can perform some various functions such as helping the plant retain moisture and helping it defend itself from pest which is very cool . Wow so could be one or the other, and neither are a negative.☺️☺️☺️
