First photo is how it currently looks. Second photo was almost 2 weeks ago.

I got it 20 days ago and have watered it 3 times so far, like each week.

I live in the South Bay Area in California and this plant sits around 2 feet away from the window.

I’ve learned how to make a chunky aroid mix with Grow Queen’s Craft Aroid Mix, charcoal, and orchid bark. I think I added perlite as well.

Looking forward to your feedback. Thank you.

Are you checking the soil for moisture, or checking that the foliage is drooping before you decide to water?

Aside from that, the white parts do tend to turn brown. It’s 😬*likely to be a light issue.

Variegated plants have increased light requirements due to having less chlorophyll. If these needs are not met, the plant will senesce the white portions to reallocate the nutrients and photosynthates in that tissue. How much direct sun does this receive? It needs a lot to accommodate the white portions. If only the white portions brown, it’s definitely from insufficient light exposure. 💚

edit: Increasing light exposure will halt this process.
