Mexican shell flowers which had done pretty well in garden this year have been left to do their thing and just noticed today some had split open and looked like a few seeds. Was pleasantly surprised when opening the pods. Have got a few more than seem to need to dry out a bit more so have left them.
The garden seems a bit confused. Halloween tomorrow and gladioli still blooming and Nasturtium still creeping.

That’s such a good feeling, congrats! Those shell flowers are gorgeous too, its awesome seeing them give back with seeds after all that work. Gonna be fun seeing how many new ones you get next season
Always an important part of my Gardening at this time of year. It’s obvious and I’m sure you have, to label all your containers that you store your seeds in. Plus some benefit from being stored in the Fridge or a Cold Dry Place, to be ready to germinate in early Spring or whenever you choose.
What a wholesome high!
I’m pretty inconsistent (rubbish) at raising plants from seed, so I use at least half my collected seeds to broadcast (chuck) in areas that I’d like that plant to grow.
I figure that if the plant would be dropping the seed at this time, I’m just doing the same over my chosen areas of soil.
Seems to work fairly well to spread plants to other areas.
And yes the climate is f*cked. All sorts of unexpected things are out at the moment. I feel so pleased to see my flowers then get a weird ominous feeling as a follow up…
