Hello! I just order and received this Stella girl from Brumley and Bloom about a week ago. When I got her I unwrapped her from all her plastic and foam and all the things and was disappointed in her appearance but she’s mine and I’m going to love her just the same right? I’m curious what ya’ll think of her and if you have any advice on her care. She’s is my first Stella and she seems so fragile compared to all my other calatheas. I feel like I could sneeze and all her leaves would fly off!

Arrival protocol: remove all the crap, look her over for any suspicious intruders, (I usually do a good wipe down but again so fragile) potted her in my proprietary mix lol, clear pot and a good watering/ drain and here we are…

Give her time. A friend of mine got me one for my birthday. She was shipped while it was hot AF. Looked healthy enough upon arrival, but after a few days, her leaves started dying. One leaf tried to hang in there for a couple of weeks but eventually died, leaving me w a pot of dead leaves. I cut all the leaves off, and let it sit for another 2 weeks. Was planning on tossing her in the garbage, but noticed she was pushing a new leaf up. Her new leaf is healthy and happy.

She is probably experiencing shock from shipping and change in environment, and may lose all her leaves too. But don’t lose hope!

I wish I’d read these responses before I totally cut my Stella back because she was being a bit more dramatic than yours. 😬
