The home of Virginia Miller on 215 Ball St. was chosen as the 2025 Fall Yard of the Month in Monette.

On Oct. 26 City Beautification Committee members presented Virginia Miller with a certificate declaring her home and yard as having the best fall yard and decorations in the entire Monette community. She was also presented with a metal pumpkin and matching garden flag. The black and yellow “Yard of the Month” sign was placed in her front yard.

Miller’s yard is decorated with fall pumpkins, cornstalks, and over fifty large pots of flowering plants in yellow, orange, red and green. Several fall art items were on display from her vast collection of seasonal decorations. She has won several awards for her home and yard displays throughout the years and is a very accomplished gardener.

Virginia Robins Miller grew up in Leachville. She married Bob Miller and they first made their home in the Delfore farming community, northeast of Monette. They moved into their new home on Ball Street in Monette in 1972. She moved part of her plant collection to the yard at her new home.

“I love to have plants that belonged to my family,” Miller said. “Now I have a lot of my flower in decorative pots, which makes it easier for me to maintain them.”

Miller is very family orientated, and her family is at the center of her life. She is a widow now. She has two children, Cindy Baldridge and Bryan Miller, and a total of five grandchildren overall. She is delighted to also have an ever-growing number of great grandchildren, which bring her unmeasurable joy.

Miller is a family historian and an active member of the Monette First Baptist Church.

City Beautification members present for the presentation included Julia Holmes, Karen Wallace, Kima Stewart, Beautification Chairman Barbara Suber, Virginia Miller, Nancy Russell, Byron Sparkman, Stephanie Corter, Joe Russell, Steve Suber, and Nan Snider.
