I have noticed these soft dark spots on my jalapeños and want to know what are they and are they safe to eat or should I throw them away? I cut one open yesterday and I didn’t see any black inside the pepper. When I press the dark areas they are softer than the rest of the pepper.

Push the spot with your finger. See if it pokes through..

Possible sunburn? I get them too, cut them out and use the rest.

    Also, you sure they’re jalapeños??

I’ve got that as well this year. I enriched my soil with low dispersion calcium will see next year if it works.
