TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – Tucson International Airport (TUS) has teamed up with the Tucson Botanical Gardens to celebrate the Gardens’ 50th anniversary. This partnership aims to highlight the cultural and natural beauty of Southern Arizona.

TUS will sponsor a historic Los Angeles train depot in the Gardens’ newly refreshed train exhibit, The Great Garden Express. This exhibit showcases the evolution of travel with G-scale model trains navigating a landscape reflecting the region’s unique ecology and heritage.

“This partnership is a natural extension of our commitment to welcoming travelers with a sense of place,” Danette Bewley, Tucson Airport Authority President/CEO, said.

Michelle Conklin, CEO/President of Tucson Botanical Gardens, shared, “we are thrilled to announce this strategic partnership with the Tucson International Airport which allows us to enhance the visitor experience by connecting travel with nature.”

Looking forward, this collaboration is the first step in celebrating Tucson’s identity as a hub of culture and natural beauty.
